This book features a text by Khenchen Padma Namgyal of Zurmang Monastery, who lived and studied extensively at nearby Dzogchen Monastery in Eastern Tibet. Khenchen Padma Namgyal was known for his high level of realization. The text is a record of a teaching that he gave out on the mountains slopes prior to a session of Direct Crossing (Thogal) practice. In it, he explains the six lamps in relation to Direct Crossing or Thogal practice. The teaching is from the Longchen Nyingthig system of Dzogchen dharma. PKTC has translated and published many of them already.  This book presents the remaining three texts that have not been translated into English.  Each text covers a different aspect of Quintessence Great Completion.  A highlight of the texts is the one that tells the story of Jigmey Gyalway Nyugu's "post-death" teaching that he gave after he had died to his main disciple, the fourth Dzogchen Rinpoche.  These texts will be of great interest to anyone who is studying and practising Great Completion.  However, these texts all belong to the Longchen Nyingthig transmission so will be of special interest to those practising that system.
